Winter Heatwave Set to Keep us Warm

After an Arctic airmass over the past week or two, things will flip back over to the other extreme, way above normal temperatures. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday this week could push the mid and even upper 70s along the coast! Farther inland, upper 60s and low 70s will prevail. Could even be warmer! This is an incredible anomaly for late January.

The warmth looks to last into early February. There will be many good nights for an outdoor firepit or sitting fireside somewhere. Might be a little too warm for indoors however. At least we can walk and recreate outside without having to bundle up.

This will make snow lovers nervous, but there are no signs that winter is over or that the warmth will last for the rest of the winter. Things could flip back to cold in mid February.

For now, enjoy some great backyard weather outside of the clouds and rain, which will be abundant.
