Happy New Year subscribers! Looking at this upcoming Friday, it looks like there will be some kind of winter weather event! That is VERY COLD air on the GEFS ensembles. Somebody, somewhere will get snow/and or ice by Friday Jan 6th.
As far as snow/ice/frozen precipitation amounts are concerned, and this is ALL inclusive of frozen precip, here is the GFS total “snow” accumulations. Seeing some kind of frozen precip across NC and maybe even SE VA! Looks like 2 inches total, maybe even snow, across NC. Flurries or light snow elsewhere as of now.
