Good afternoon and happy Monday! Any standing slush or water will freeze solid tonight, continuing any treacherous travel conditions. The big story tonight will be the cold, with widespread single digits across most of NC. Take a look at some of these lows tonight! There will even be NEGATIVE digits in the mountains.
What’s all this talk about a snowstorm this weekend? At this point, it’s just that. Talk. I’m not going to even discuss what’s out there right now, since many folks are recovering from a case of nerves from this last storm, including myself.
Pay no mind to anyone talking about snow this weekend. It may be on the models now, but then the models can lose it. Keep in mind, NOAA funding was cut early last year so the data that goes into the models is limited. This means less quality models.
If I think it might do something this weekend, I will post. For now, bundle up and stay warm! It’s going to get FRIGID tonight and Tuesday morning.
