Florence is on Her Way

We have been talking about the possibility of Florence making her way towards the US East Coast since the beginning of this week. With each model run that has followed the likelihood of Florence making landfall in the US has grown. Now that the trough will miss Florence and NOT take her out the sea, the only escape route is to threaten the East Coast.

Although Florence is not a strong tropical system right now she is expected to strengthen yet again into a major hurricane.

Sea surface temperatures are very warm off the East Coast which will only be adding fuel to the fire as Florence makes her way westward.

Latest European ensemble members are honing in on a landfall as a strong hurricane.

The GFS has also continued its westward trend and now has half its ensembles making landfall in the US.

Below will be the latest NHC update as of 5pm on September 7th, 2018. The time to have plan of action is now, especially if you live along the northern Georgia coast to the Delmarva.
