Heat Wave Expected This Weekend With Values Over 100 °

This is turning out to be a rather hot summer as we have already experienced a heatwave until now. This weekend, with temperatures in the 90s across the Carolinas combined with the humidity, will make it feel like 100 – 105 ° in spots. Eastern NC and the southern tip of SC will swelter the most this weekend.

Inland areas will not feel quite as hot due to slightly less humidity. The key word here is slightly, since heat indices will still soar into the upper 90s. The mountains of western NC will catch a break with values topping out around 90 °.

Saturday looks like the hottest day out of the weekend, with Sunday following close behind. Take it easy outdoors this weekend and drink plenty of water. Try to remain indoors where there is a/c if possible. Also try to limit activities to the early morning or late evening.
