Freezing Rain and Drizzle Concerns are Increasing for Monday

With surface temperatures below freezing, anything that falls from the sky will stick. If this is drizzle, it will be freezing drizzle since it will freeze to whatever it lands on. This will make for potentially slick sidewalks, railings, and roads. Extreme caution should be taken on Monday if you have to head out.

Below are current Winter Weather Advisories issued by the NWS:

Anywhere in the purple and NEAR the purple could experience icing issues. Stay safe and consult your local NWS for the official forecast. Things might not warm up as quickly as forecast, so prolonged icing is a concern into Monday night.

Below are the probabilities of ice accumulation of 0.01 of an inch or greater. Please keep in mind, it does not take much ice to cause big problems. Philly could be in for some serious trouble as could Washington, DC and the surrounding areas. Western NC, upstate SC, and ATL are not out of the woods.
