Polar Air Possible Next Week

With the second week of November already upon us, the winds of change will usher in what could possibly be the coldest air so far this season. If the Euro verifies, we could see a chunk of the Polar Vortex break off and even spill down into the US. A stratospheric warming event could cause November to be a very frigid month compared to normal. The only times it will be warm is when the pattern is reloading for another release of Arctic air. The Southeast US may be the only “safe” area away from the chill, but it will likely be felt by many.

This looks like it could be a fairly deep Arctic intrusion late next week. Exact timing is yet to be determined.

What we do know is that energy will be in high demand due to heating needs.
