Rainy Week Ahead Expected for the Carolinas

The warm sunny days could be coming to an end soon, as storminess and low pressure will move into our region. Not every location will see rain this week, but at some point expect to get wet regardless of exact locaion.

The rain will be off-and-on and scattered in nature. So we are not expecting a washout for anyone, perhaps locations West if anyone.

Below is the forecast image showing areas of rain and amounts expected. See the legend below the image for amounts.

AREA A: 2-3 inches of total rain expected. 3″ will be on the high end.
AREA B: 1-2 inches of total rain expected. Rain will be more scattered and some locations will receive more than others.
AREA C: Up to 1 inch of rain is expected. Frequency will be hit-or-miss throughout the week.

The GEFS model is indicating the heaviest rains will be in more western locations. Atlanta is one city that may see the most rain. Closer to the coast, not as much rain is expected, with the exception of Charleston. This could be on of those stormy events where a stream of moisture consistently pumps rain into town and surrounding areas.

Drive safe and turn on your headlights if it’s raining this week, for your safety and others. We’re not expecting a washout, but any given location can see rain more than once this week.
