Rounds of Rain and Storms Continue This Week

As an unsettled pattern continues this week, there could be some added tropical trouble in the Gulf. Ironically, this tropical disturbance will move south out of Georgia and into the Gulf. This disturbance has already caused some flooding downpours across Charlotte this weekend. However, the overall “juice” is loose, and will cause daily showers and storms.

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted an area to watch over the northern Gulf Coast this week. The area in yellow below is where some kind of swirl or even depression may ramp up.

The takeaway from this forecast is increased rain over the Carolinas this week, and there could even be flooding over areas that receive a lot of rain quickly. Travel will likely be disrupted with airport delays, so check with your airline before heading to the airport. Also, travel will not be ideal this week on the interstates, as accidents increase when the road is wet.

Plan accordingly, and please stay safe! Stay home or delay/cancel any travel if necessary.
