Any Cold Spell Will Be Short-Live as a Warm Surge Takes Over

A piece of the Polar Vortex is visiting the US this week, however the extremely cold temperatures will be limited to up North. For the Southeast, we can expect near normal temperatures for this time of year. However, a gradual warm-up will begin.

As we head into February, temperatures will surge along the East Coast, especially for the Northeast. Snow chances will be greatly reduced into next week.

Pictured above the the Euro ensemble mean for February 2nd, and the above average pattern will likely last until the 7th. Then, a colder airmass could be headed back in, but for the Northeast. The Southeast will remain seasonable. Then yet another warm-up could occur, however confidence is low for this.

We are not seeing any tell-tale signs in the pattern for snow. We will update you if we do!
