Below Normal Temperatures Expected Starting 11/4

Cold weather lovers, you may continue your happy dance as a shot of cold air is still on schedule for 11/4 and 11/5. There will be a period of below normal temperatures from the 4th into the 10th. Below is the GFS model showing the temperature departure from average at 5000′ above ground level:

This is used for clarity to show widespread below normal temperatures, which still isn’t showing up well on the 2m temperatures. NOAA has agreed with our forecast, as we have indicated this trend in our long-range outlook article issued some time ago.

Morning low temperatures could dip into the upper 20s and low 30s across parts of NC and VA at some point from the 4th into the 10th. This will likely be our first freeze for some, and frost for many.

Trick-or-treat weather is looking splendid for Sunday, although may be a bit breezy with an exiting storm system!
