Beneficial Rains On The Way Next Week

As the recent fires including the one on Pilot Mountain have many concerned, there may be some relief heading our way, although it would hardly make a dent in our severe drought.

The good news is there will be a storm system heading up from the south and will spread rain across much of the Carolinas. However, since the air is dry, it will be hard to get rain on the western side of the mountains into Tennessee. Fire danger will remain high there.

For the rest of us, a nice welcome rain is heading our way on Wednesday next week, and should last most of the day. The longer, the better.

Rain coming on Wednesday for some temporary relief.

The GFS model is where this was pulled from, and even has some banding across western NC. If this comes to fruition, it is a welcome sight.

We can hope that this pattern continues for a while, since we are in a severe drought. Also, this could be in the favor of winter lovers with an active southern storm track 🙂

No promises though, as usual. We will release another Winter Outlook right around the Solstice, if not before!
