Chilly Week Ahead, Not as Warm as First Thought

Is this a trend for winter lovers? Could there be a glimmer of hope on the horizon? Yes. This week will be cold, as a storm system that brought a few flakes and ice pellets to the region will make its exit tonight, and will wrap in cold air behind. Wednesday morning lows could dip into the 20s for some in northern locations and the mountains, while many of us will start the day in the 30s and 40s south.

However a persistent chill will remain this week, as a Carolina Wedge will take shape. It will be hard to get out of the 30s and 40s during the day for most of this week.

Saturday, Christmas Day, things could start to warm up. By Sunday, we could be back in the low 60s for highs for most locations.

This week is not looking quite as insanely warm as we first thought.

And yes, we could get colder just after New Year’s as we posted another article here on the site: Winter, Is that You? January could be our first pattern shift. Click to view our recent article!

Everyone, please drive safe, and try not to create more stress this week for retail and food workers. Short staff and covid are causing a lot of stress this week.

Bring your winter coats and hats if you go out!
