The current pattern sees a prolonged period of pronounced chilly air, and the end of the week will also end as such. There will only be a slight moderation in temperature trend before the next wave of cold moves in. This reinforcing shot of colder air moves in around Oct 28-30.
Halloween is looking chilly on the GEFS Ensembles! Down into Florida will feel chilly. Downright cold even.
The normal or above normal in New England and the Northeast, it will be ahead of the passing front around then. Any modified air will move out quickly with the cold front. Could we see snow?The interesting thing is the ensembles have a low somewhere off the coast around the 29th. WIth this much cold air in place and a coastal storm, we could see flakes in the mountains for now. Pretty much limited there.
Either way, we will be cold for the beginning of November. At times, it may feel like winter has arrived. It hasn’t however there might be some wintry smells in the air already. Buckle your seatbelts!
