Daily Forecast for 12/21

Daily Forecast for 12/21:

Discussion:

Heavy rain and strong wind gusts along the coast is what we will see as we end the work week. Gusts up to 70+mph are expected, especially along the immediate coast. We will also see widespread 1″-3″ of rain which will continue the flooding threat into tomorrow. With the strong winds along the coast and soaked grounds we are expecting power outages. Temperatures will be well above average ahead of the warm front with highs in the 60s, but a cold front will swing through the area from west to east and change rain to snow in the highest elevations along the Appalachians, and flash freezing may occur making roads very slippery in that part of the region.

Next 3 Days:

The rain will continue into the early part of Saturday, but then we dry out for the rest of the weekend. Temperatures will drop from where they will be on Friday, but will be close to average on the backside of our heavy rain maker. We are watching for the potential of some light snow to move from the Midwest and into the Northeast, just in time for Christmas.
