Eastern US Will Continue To Bake in October

For those of you who wished fall arrived on time, it will not unfortunately. We should all keep our summer clothes out as we will need them to start the month of October. Temperatures could reach the low 90s or even mid 90s in spots. It’s not too late to keep those pools open, as they still may be needed to cool off.

While it will be continued hot, there is a decent breeze and also the sun angle will continue to get lower and lower, so the the at will not stick around forever. It’s only a matter of time until we get that game-changing cold front for the rest of the season.

The Euro continues to bake our region through the end of this month and to start October. Notice the cold in the Pacific Northwest. This cold will eventually make its way to our area, however it will take a while for it to finally push east.  Once it does, we could be in for a major cool-down. The Euro ensemble meain (2nd image) indicates the eastern ridge will hang tough, however the cold may overpower it and cause big changes after the middle of next week. This is when the heat could finally break. We could be seeing an overall pattern shift from hot to cold here in the East once this change arrives.
