First Call for Snow

This weekend, we will be watching our second snowstorm of the season set to take aim at the Mid-Atlantic region. This storm has the potential of bringing heavy snow and freezing rain the portions of the region. Here is our first call on this weekend’s storm:

For you folks in the D.C area, you will be seeing upwards of 5″ of snow which is very much welcomed across the area. North of Charlotte, we will see the threat for freezing rain and sleet as warm southerly air will try to erode the strong arctic high to the north. Biggest totals will be seen in Central Virginia as low pressure develops over the Atlantic and enhances the moisture flow into the region.

We will update you on any changes that may occur with our forecast, so continue to follow along with us here at East Coast Weather Authority.
