Heat Returns Wednesday for the Carolinas

There will be a substantial cool-down next week, but first we have to get through the heat this week, if that is your thing. The good news is that it will be comfortable enough to get outside and go for a walk, as long as you practice social distancing. This means that you don’t have to be trapped inside due to foul weather such as rain or raw conditions.

The mountains will be the coolest in NC, and VA looks like they will not be quite as hot as the rest of NC and SC. We will be looking at highs in the mid to upper 80s for Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington and Charleston, topping out around 88 degrees F or so.

The heat will last into Thursday, but may not be as intense as Wednesday, with some areas potentially cooling off due to cloud cover. If you head outside to enjoy it, remember to keep a safe distance between yourself and others!
