Impacts from Florence Continue This Week

FLORENCE NOT DONE IMPACTING NC/VA

Water rescues, power outages, highway and road closures are all going to be in the headline this week even though Florence is still not a hurricane. She has been downgraded from a tropical storm to a tropical depression, however impacts will still be high across western NC and VA. Power outages and flooding will be numerous over the next few days this week.

As Florence tracks into western NC and up the spine of the Appalachians, she will likely bring mudslides and additional power outages. Residents in the foothills and mountains should be prepared for these landslides/mudslides and should have alternate plans if they are in a typical area that has such.

As Florence races off into the Northeast this week, some of us can breathe a sigh of relief from this whole event. Donations are available to help those in SE NC who lost everything in the hurricane and the unfolding events after.
