Northeast Snow Still on the Table for Thursday

Hey everyone. Mike G. here. It looks like the sweet spot will be setting up across Long Island into Hartford and Providence. These locations will likely see over a foot! If you want snow, this is the place to be.

Elsewhere the totals drop off into New Jersey, and Boston, and even more as you head into Philly. The issue with Philly and Southeast PA will be that the ground will be wet from all the initial rain before changing over to snow. This also means that the ground will be above freezing.

Therefore, anything that falls immediately after the changeover will likely melt.

However, once we head into the morning rush, we should see snow flying from Philly to NYC. Very heavy snow bands will set up across long island into Thursday morning.

HRRR snow totals are shown in the last image below and are quite impressive across Long Island! Kudos to John for calling this forecast. Feel free to ask questions below!
