Major Storm System on Friday Could Bring Tornadoes

There is a 15% chance of severe weather in the Southeast Friday, according to the Storm Prediction Center. If storms get going during the day on Friday when there is daytime heating, things could get off to a dangerous start. Below is the GFS valid mid-day Friday, showing another large storm system for the East Coast. The dynamics of this system could allow for more severe weather reports, especially in the Southeast.

It is uncommon to see a 15% chance 4 days before the expected event. This means that the SPC could be locked into something. April is the month for tornadoes in the South!

Please continue to follow along with us this week, but more importantly your local National Weather Service office.
