Today and Monday are our only two days where we can hope for being dry all day. Some parts of SC and NC are getting showers and storms even at this hour. It seems as if there is no mercy from the rain. And this week, we have more bad news to share.
More rain is on the way over the next 7 days, and some areas again will receive more than others. Where the heaviest rain sets up exactly is unknown, but we have an idea where it will be. Again, the coast and the mountains will be the recipients of heavier rain.
Nobody in the Mid-Atlantic will be able to escape the rain this week, nor down into the Southeast. Wilmington to Charleston to Savannah, plan on having your beach time disrupted this week. The model used as guidance was the GFS, and there is no dry spot to be found over the next 7 days.
This unfortunately means more flooding, especially in areas that have already received a lot of rain. Again, the concern is along the SC and NC coasts.
Bring the umbrella, and more importantly do not drive into flooded streets and roads.
