More Winter Woes for the Carolinas, Some Severe Impacts

Not exactly what anyone wants to hear in southeastern NC and southeast SC, however there is a growing concern for an ice storm. Ice could make it all the way to the coast. If you live in the red, please pay attention to any safety suggestions or travel advisories by your local NWS office.

Elsewhere across the region…snow is expected to fall in the mountains of eastern TN and western NC. Snow will also cause low to moderate impacts across the western Carolinas, however, in the moderate area freezing rain will also be a concern. There could be some scattered power outages.

Heavy snow will be a concern for northeast NC and southeast VA, thus the high impact level. Snow could make it as far west as Charlotte, up to 2″ possible thus high impact.

This storm has the chance to shut some stores and restaurants, schools down for a day or two. Maybe more in the severe zone.

Please consult your local NWS office for all official information this week.
