National Hurricane Center Gives Disturbance in Caribbean 80% Chance of Formation

Residents in the Florida Keys and also in South Florida need to monitor this tropical system this weekend. It could strengthen into a tropical storm. Warnings and watches may be need for Cuba, and also Jamaica possibly. This system will turn to the east on Saturday, as an approaching cold front from the west will help steer this tropical system somewhere near South Florida, or between South Florida and Cuba.

Regardless of intensity, heavy flooding rains can be expected. This will be the biggest headline. Of course if it gains strength, then winds could also be an issue.

At any rate, the Caribbean needs to watch this tropical disturbance this upcoming weekend.

The latest hurricane models take this system over western Cuba, and then over the Bahamas. Therefore South Florida may only get brushed, however they still need to monitor.
