New Years Kicks off With Near Record Warmth for Some

After the shock to the system on Christmas Eve with frigid temperatures, it will feel like a heat wave in the coming week with well above normal temperatures. The New Year will ring in wet and warm, with the warm hanging around at least into next week.

It will feel spring-like outside, and outdoor activities will be able to be had. But do all “good things” come to an end? They do, and we are confident that by the 8th or so, or perhaps 5th-6th temperatures will settle back down to seasonally average.

It is unclear what happens after, but there are indications of another Polar Vortex split currently. This would mean the potential for extreme cold again around the 8th-14th, but for who is uncertain. It could be Europe, the North Atlantic, Asia, or Russia. Or us.

When confidence increases we will certainly let you know. For now, Happy 2023 and may all the best come true!
