Yes, yet again, we will be experiencing a warm start to winter, outside of the Christmas cold blast that we received. Temperatures will remain warm this week, but then we could cool off down to normal by the end of the week. After our normal spell this weekend, we will quickly warm up once again.

This will certainly put a damper on any snow opportunities. Unfortunately for snow lovers such as Jesse and I, any East Coast storm signals will likely result in rain. And perhaps a cold rain at that.
The period from next week and into mid-month is also looking wet. So warm and wet is the call at least into mid-month.

Plan for some warm and sunny days, but also for mild and wet. With the active southern jet stream, we will be anything but dry. This could result in increased thunderstorm activity, and perhaps could signal a severe storm trend in winter, especially if we have more Arctic fronts like we had around Christmas.
While it is normal for the South to have warm days in winter, an unprecedented stretch of above normal temps for much of the country is indeed strange. This is killing any snow opportunities we would otherwise have. But we agree and understand that everything happens for a reason!
