Next Week Could See Warmest Temperatures of the Season

It has been quite warm today across the Southeast with temperatures in the upper 80s. This will fade into more seasonable temperatures for later this week and this weekend. However next week a ridge of high pressure will build in the Southeast. Dry conditions along with another shot of warm weather will occur around the 30th into the 1st. Temperatures will approach the upper 80s, however a few readings around 90 cannot be ruled out.

It will not be crazy hot, but warm enough to consider tuning up your air conditioners and making sure they are working for the summer. GFS shows highs next week in the upper 80s for the Southeast:

While this is close to normal for this time of year, we can most likely put the coats in the closet! Get the summer wardrobe ready…(but if you’re in the Southeast you might have had it already in February)….

Next rain chance is Friday and we are NOT expecting a widespread outbreak of severe storms. There may be a few along the coast of NC but the conditions will have to be ideal, and they could be. The rest of eastern NC should just see mainly rain.
