Rain Returns Monday for the Carolinas, Mixing in Mountains

Models last week were hinting at some kind of winter weather for Monday, however they have backed off significantly as we are way too warm today. Rain will spread in from the west overnight and into early Monday, and will become steady by mid-morning. As the storm pushes east and colder air moves in later on Monday, flakes could fly in the mountains as well as a wintry mix. It will be a cold rain as temperatures will only be in the 40s and 50s in spots. By the evening hours the rain will end, but a cold northwest wind will pick up and cause frozen precip in the mountains. Our wake-up temperatures on Tuesday will be in the 30s!

We are still watching an ice storm potential on Wednesday, so be sure to check back here on the site and also our Facebook page!
