Severe Possible Across the Southeast Next Week

Our Autumn blast is still on the way for late next week, however it could possibly come with a price. As a powerful cold front approaches our region on Thursday and into Friday, some powerful storms could fire off including the potential for spin-ups. These storms will be moving from south to north, and could pose the potential for a late-season outbreak in the Southeast.

The GFS model is indicating quite a strong piece of energy swinging across the South next week. The oranges and reds are higher amounts of atmospheric energy, and this is what will help create strong thunderstorms, including rotating thunderstorms.

Anywhere from Georgia to Virginia could be the area for severe storms, and residents should be weather aware starting on Tuesday next week. The timing is looking like Tuesday afternoon and into the evening hours. Then, as the front pushes through later Tuesday night, additional severe storms as well as wind damage could occur.
