Soaking Southeast Rain Expected This Weekend

Just in time for another weekend, and also a washout, It’s coming, and by Saturday afternoon many of us across NC and SC will be feeling the dreary gloom. It is much needed rain, however, which is beneficial. The heaviest amounts will be to the west of Charlotte in the foothills and mountains.

The below map and legend is how much we are expecting for our area.

AREA A – Up to 0.5 inches of rain

AREA B – 0.10 inch to 0.25 inches of rain

AREA C – 0.5 to 1.0 inch of rain

AREA D – 1.0 inch to 1.5 inches of rain

AREA E – 2 inches or greater of rain

The European model is what we took our forecast mainly from (not verbatim but in the same ballpark, and we can see that west of Charlotte over 2 inches of rain will fall. Not as much rain is expected in the eastern Carolinas. However, from northeast of Charleston along the beaches and up to south of Wilmington we will see up to a half inch of rain. The upstate of SC could get some serious flooding as well as northeast GA.

Bring the umbrellas and use your headlights during rain, even if it is daytime outside! Safety first.
