Here we go again, more rain for the south, and heavy rain for the Deep South. The rain will move into the Carolinas later on Monday, and will be both heavy and off-and-on at least through Thursday. Severe storms are a possibility this week across the Deep South as our large-scale storm system starts to crank up.
While severe storms are not expected during the early part of this week, it will be thundery across the Deep South and the Carolinas with heavy rains which will cause localized flooding. The severe threat become greater later this week as we head into Thursday and Friday as a strong cold front pushes through. The SPC already has an Outlook for parts of the Southeast including Georgia and eastern South Carolina heading into Friday. This is rather significant to see an Outlook this early for severe since confidence is already moderate.
Takeaway for this week: Don’t forget your headlights when driving, and an umbrella!
