Strong Pacific Southern Branch Jet Stream Will Keep Eastern US Warm Through End of Feb

2-20-2017

With a roaring Pacific and Subtropical Jet stream, it is unlikely that we will see any cold outbreaks here in the East. Instead, we can expect many periods of wet and warm weather, with severe thunderstorm outbreaks in-between. The strong southern branch of the jet will contribute to February tornadoes in the Eastern half of the US.

This air will be pumped up from near Hawaii. Tough to get snow in the East with Hawaiian-like air.
