Tropical Activity in the Gulf is Likely

We have been watching a tropical disturbance in the Caribbean all week as we have been expecting for it to develop as it moves north. The chances of this disturbance forming into our next named tropical system has risen since earlier in the week.

The pattern that we are experiencing right now is the same exact setup that we had when Alberto, Gordon, and Florence impacted the United States. These three storms had the same exact aspect with them, and that aspect was a large ridge over the Northeast.

Florence Pattern

Gordon Pattern

Alberto Pattern

To show the similarities, here is the next week’s pattern.

Looking exactly like the past patterns which brought tropical activity into the United States. Development is likely to come with this area of disturbed weather and the next name on the list is Michael. We will continue to keep you updated with any changes that may occur.
