Heavy Snow to fall from Charlotte to Raleigh, Richmond Wednesday

The snow is starting to move in from the west, and is getting hung up on the mountains. There could be some drying occuring as some of the snow is not reaching the ground. This front will push east overnight and will stall over NC and the Mid Atlantic. Moisture will stream up from the South, but the warm nose in the atmosphere will be prevalent, as it is not that cold outside here. There could be some mixing with sleet and freezing rain before changing over to snow. NWS is forecasting 4.5 ” for Charlotte, however I am not seeing that other than in the models. However, the official forecast is posted below for my southern snow outlook.
