What to Expect for August Temperatures in the Carolinas

It has been a rainy summer for some, and that trend will likely continue into this month. Along with the wetter than normal conditions for the Carolinas will come near seasonal average temperatures through mid-month.

Below is the GEFS ensemble showing a very normal temperature trend into the 18th or so.

However, temperatures are expected to start off above average this week, or perhaps slightly above average. We won’t see any unusual heat for August in the South, other than a few 95 degree readings. However, as we head into mid-month, temperatures look to normalize.

This will probably be due to the above normal rainfall. It’s too soon to say if this will be from any tropical systems, but rather stalled fronts.

We don’t like to say the ‘Q’ word, however all is quiet for now! So we’ll say kuiet like Mike’s Weather Page. 🙂
