Wind and Rain to Plague the Carolinas This Weekend

The winds are picking up as a coastal low gets cranking offshore on this Friday. Conditions will deteriorate especially for the coast as this storm system gains steam overnight and into Saturday. Coastal flooding and 40-50 mph wind gusts are expected to cause moderate impacts for the beaches. There could also be scattered power outages as a result. Farther inland, we are expecting lower impacts but heavy rains could cause flash flooding. Strong winds could also cause scattered power outages.

See our below map for the expected impacts:

Stay safe this weekend, and it’s probably safest at home and off the roads! Traffic, tornadoes, high winds, heavy rains and chilly temps will make it not so pleasant to be outside.

I am avoiding the interstates this year.
