Rain Continues Tonight, When Will it End?

As the rain held off for the first half of Saturday, it is now spread across much of the region. There are some dry slots across inland SC and even inland southeast NC. But that doesn’t mean the weather isn’t sour. But do things improve Sunday? They could, in fact, it can only get better from here.

The latest short-range guidance or hrrr model shows the offshore low will move onshore Sunday, and things should start to slowly dry up, however the clouds will hang tough for most of the day. By 11pm Sunday most of the region should be dry, with possibly a few exceptions in northern and western location.

Monday…things look to be the best as the rain will end. There could even be some peaks of sunshine but it’s not expected to be a sunny day inland. Along the beaches have the best chance to see the longest sunshine. This is not a promise, just a trend that is possible. Cutoff low pressure systems don’t cause rain and clouds forever, so it should clear up with time, and it could by later Monday.

But at that point, the holiday weekend will be mostly over. But that’s not the reason for the holiday, the ultimate sacrifices of our armed services members is.

Take it east this weekend and stay safe.
