Talks continue for snow this weekend across NC and VA, but how much will there be? Some sources are showing many inches of snow output. In reality, this includes sleet and freezing rain. Now, how about the probability of seeing any type of snow/sleet?
The FV3 GFS is indicating a whopper of a snowstorm for NC, however in the image it says “includes sleet.” Either way, this could be a prolonged event where snow and ice are both possible.
The Canadian is pushing the heavier snow farther north. It all depends how much cold air is present, and also how cold the air actually is.
