After Wild Temperature Swings, Early March Shows Signs of Spring

This may not be the news that many cold and snow lovers want to hear, however we are looking at a Southeast Ridge of high pressure taking shape after March 2nd. Once this ridge takes hold, it may be hard to get rid of until the 10th or 11th. Even then, it’s unclear if the warmth will remain.

As far as more winter storms for the remainder of winter, March is a wildcard month in terms if it will be cold and snowy or warm and dry. March is typically an active month, but if warmth holds on until mid-month, then it will be difficult to get snow after mid-month. Additionally, late-season cold snaps are always possible, so planting before April 15th is not advised.
