Another Cold Blast Heading Our Way Before the End of Next Week

Another cool spell and potentially evenĀ  a cold blast will move into our region by the end of next week. This is why we are saying not to plant anything until at least after 15th, but in this case it may not be until later this month. We’re not saying there WILL be another freeze, but there could be at least a frost. Otherwise it’s still unknown how severe this cold snap will be, although it’s not looking terrible and during April these cold shots are usually short-lived.

We could be looking at widespread low 40s as lows, however this is just a best guess by the GFS (below) this far out. It is certainly possible for a low of 39 or 38 to appear next Thursday morning just around sunrise. This is only guidance, so we could be a few degrees cooler when the time comes. It also depends on the severity of the cold air heading our way.

It looks like there could be some chilly days after this, and the daytime highs may be limited to the 70s and we might not see 80 something in Charlotte for about a week or so.

Otherwise, enjoy the upcoming April Showers, and then much cooler and drier next week!
