Atlantic Basin Activity Remains Active into Labor Day Weekend

There is some activity out in the Atlantic today, however these areas of interest are only given a 20% chance of development over the next 5 days. These waves are on the verge of potentially fizzling, however we still need to watch any tropical waves regardless of their strength. However, a potent wave or two could move off the coast of Africa late next week as Labor Day Weekend kicks off.

Note the tight cluster of numbers in the circle off the coast of Africa. This is valid on Friday 9/2. This is not an exact forecast, but just shows how there could be some areas to watch as we head into Labor Day Weekend. The disturbance outlined above could be one to watch, and might have a chance to develop into something, far greater than anything else out there now.

But there’s some good news, it appears as though upper-atmospheric winds will take whatever develops out to sea! That’s the trend for now, and we need to see if this changes. If it does, we will be the first to let you know!
