Just when we thought we could go to the pool in the evening, well, some of us still can’t because of rain and lightning. Yes, more rain is in the forecast for tonight, all of Friday, and into the early morning hours on Saturday.
The NAM model above is showing rain totals into 8 am Saturday. Note the heaviest is over charlotte and cross west-central NC and down into the SC Upstate. A majority of it will fall on Friday, so travel is not recommended.
Future radar below shows rain overspreading the region Friday morning, however rain could start to fall before then, even as early as tonight into the early morning hours on Friday.
Usually a lot of wrecks happen when roads are wet, so plan accordingly and leave plenty of time. I try not to drive when it rains, just because of unsafe drivers that seem to come out in droves.
