Below Normal Temperatures Likely Next Weekend

We seem to be catching a break from the heat so far in June. There has been no real pronounced heat here in the East. This is good news for the cool weather lovers and for anyone who works outdoors.

Late this coming week a strong cold front will push through from the north and will cool things off for the weekend. The front cold move through on Saturday. Nonetheless, a wave of low pressure over the Chesapeake Bay will keep conditions cool and rainy there, and much below normal for this time of year.

Just how cool will it be? Saturday’s highs according to the GFS will likely only be in the 70s across much of eastern NC, and perhaps in the low 80s in western NC. We may not even reach 85 here in South Carolina! High temperatures could be limited to the low 80s. Notice how we are spared the heat from Texas.
