Big Changes Arrive Next Week

We are looking at our next shot of cold air, which is expected to be around the 9th for many. Temperatures will drop behind a cold front this weekend, mainly in the Northeast, but it will be nothing like the one that moves through next week. After the 9th, we are looking at below normal temperatures at least into mid-month. Notice all of the cold air over western Canada. That could be all the air that is stored for reinforcing shots into the East.

After the 9th, not much changed on the ensembles, as there was pronounced below normal temperatures along the East Coast, and even in the Southeast. This would signify a week with either below normal temperatures for the entire time, or, temperature rebounds in between. Either way, any heat waves appear to be non-existent at this time.

Temperatures will climb their way up to continued above-normal values into the weekend. Then a cool-down arrives but we quickly rebound and go way back up into the above normal range. Then, around the 9th are when the changes are expected to arrive. There may be some more freezing temperatures for lows across the South. If you haven’t cleaned your chimney yet, I would very soon. You may be able to start using your fireplaces at some point this month, maybe sooner rather than later.

Keep it tuned right here to  East Coast Weather Authority, as we will have the latest!
