Chilly Start to April; Next Weekend Sees More Chill

Frosty mornings may not have gone away completely, yet. It is quite common to get one last frost before April 15th, which then should be generally safe to plant thereafter. This Friday into Saturday looks to be cold again, as yet another strong front moves through. Sunday morning looks to be the coldest.

The chance of a frost looks to be limited mainly to the western Carolinas and foothills with mid 30s, not so much for the coast where it will be in the 40s. The mountains look like they could dip to near freezing.

We don’t foresee anymore frosts after the 15th, however be sure to consult your local NWS office for all official outdoor planning information.

Some of us enjoy these late-season cold outbreaks, but I’m not one of them, since winter is over. I say bring on the pool and fun outdoor activities!
