Cold Halloween In Store for Many

BUNDLE UP THE TRICK-OR-TREATERS

The morning of October 31st could be on the cold side this year, with wake-up temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s for many. Some of the mountains could see below freezing temps. While not downright frigid, this is still cold for the South this time of year. The air will have the aroma of wood fireplaces throughout the day, and especially in the mornings. Frost is also likely for the first time in areas that haven’t received it. Our latest seasonal outlook mentions the cold from 10/30 to 11/1 or so. Make sure to take a look here on the site.

The latest GFS and GEFS suggest the cold makes it to the cost with this latest wintry blast. Other outlooks such as the CPC do not show this. We think however that it is true. Beach locations may have people spending more time inside than on the sand. But it won’t matter, as most will be home preparing for the trick-or-treaters. With the cold this year, it may end up being more of a “trick” than a “treat!”

Stay tuned as we will continue to cover the pattern in the coming days. The next big item is the rain this weekend as we temporarily enter a wet pattern.
