Cold Intrusion Likely End of Month, Oct 25-30th

There has been moderately strong support with a cold outbreak just before Halloween. We will start to experience more autumn-like air. The well below normal temperatures appear to stay west of the Mountains, however if it IS cold enough, then it could spill more eastward.

The GEFS ensembles are in agreement for below normal temperatures, during a 5-day average. Therefore, the signinifcantly colder days could happen just when the pattern change takes place. If it gets windy, which it should, that would assist with upslope snow flurries for the mountain towns NC/SC. This could signify some kind of coastal low, or significant storm if this verifies. Could be a lot of rain associated with it.
