Cold Sunday and Beyond into Late April for Many in the Southeast

APRIL MAY NOT BE IDEAL FOR BEACH GOERS

For the cold weather lovers, and for those who don’t like early start to spring, this is your year. On Sunday morning, we will be waking up to well below normal temperatures across the Southeast.. Shown are the departures from normal valid at 8am Sunday.

How low will we go tonight? Mainly in the mid 30s across VA and NC and in the 40s in SC. GA is looking like the high 40s. Florida is the only place that won’t truly feel the chill.

But the cold will not end on Sunday. Wednesday morning is looking like another cold shot.

And the GEFS ensembles are telling us we are not done with cold shots even into late April. Here is for during the day on the 20th, departures from normal:

Therefore beach season may be delayed this year due to cold ocean water temperatures and non-ideal weather for beach goers. The late-season cold is projected to spill into Florida later this month per the ensembles.

Keep it tuned right here as we will post another temperature outlook!
