Coldest Air of the Season Possible Next Week

The Euro model is showing some decent cold for this time of year for our region. While a powerful cold front will move through later this week, another more robust front will move through early next week, bringing us what could be the coldest air of the season. Charlotte could dip into the upper 30s, and the mountains into the 20s! So expect a freeze there. Eastward to the coast, lows will dip into the 40s. That’s chilly for the beaches in October!

Below is the Euro model showing the projected morning lows next Tuesday at 8am. Therefore a frost is likely anywhere in the light blue above, and freeze in the purple.

Pools are closing as they should, and precautions should start to be taken concerning outdoor vegetation. Of course, the NWS is the official source for frost advisories and warnings, and should be used as such.

Here’s to everything pumpkin spice!
