Cooldown Set for Next Weekend in Carolinas

EARLY TASTE OF FALL IS ON THE WAY

Some of us would prefer to see some fall weather this year, instead of the blazing 100 ° temperatures that we saw last fall. There are some strong indications that a powerful cold front will deliver cooler and less humid conditions for next weekend, the 19th and 20th. Nighttime lows will be in the 50s for many across the Piedmont, and even in the 40s in more northern outlying areas. Lows in the 30s cannot be ruled out for the mountains, especially in the higher elevations.

Below is the latest GFS for nighttime lows Saturday night into early Sunday.. Widespread 50s are expected with the exception of the 60s along the coast, where temperature swings usually aren’t that extreme. The highs on Sunday are not expected to get out of the 70s, with abundant sunshine! Should be a great day to head to the park!

Temperature departures look to be on the chilly side for much of the Southeast on Sunday afternoon. This should be the nicest weekend in some time!

Stay with us as we will update you on the remnants of Sally as she moves over our area, as well as the upcoming cooler weekend!
